Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
