The former president's Family Member Gets Professional Advice from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA Debut
This young athlete boasts substantial social media presence
Kai Trump will have multiple prominent backers as she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a tournament invitation to play at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses multiple courses worldwide and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments recently and maintains the 461st position in AJGA listings.
However she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with her mother.
"He stands as the best player in the world," Kai expressed.
"And he's a more impressive person. He told me to go out there, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that involving Kai brings golf to different demographics, especially with the next generation.
The social media influencer boasts millions of followers and recently launched a personal fashion and living company.
She begins at late afternoon GMT.
