A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to post publicly about his profound loss.

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade
In a distinct essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Recently, a Los Angeles judge ruled to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the LAPD.
A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.
The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of homicide, with a public database citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
