Barcelona Set to Play First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
